Turn it right side out, sweep out the waistband, and iron from the lining side. Make a decorative delay (by machine or by hand), remembering to sew up the turning hole.

DIY buckle

– a decorative element that should look beautiful and impressive.
If you don't find one that matches your belt buckles, cover any buckle with fabric, but do not cover the vertical bar.

How to cover a buckle with fabric
Fold two pieces of fabric (if the fabric is thin, reinforce the outer part with non-woven fabric) right sides together and mark the contours of the buckle with tailor's chalk or pencil.
Sew a fine stitch along the inner contour. Cut the fabric inside a small rectangle, leaving a seam allowance of 0.5 cm, cut the seam allowance diagonally in the corner.
For a vertical strip, cut one piece of fabric to the line (1). Turn the part inside out and insert the buckle between the layers of fabric, with the seams matching the inner contour of the buckle
Cut a piece of fabric with slits for the vertical strip to the width buckles and glue with textile glue or sew with a velvet seam to another flap, and the seam should not be visible from the front side of the fabric. Turn the corners of the second flap to the wrong side and cut off. Then turn this flap over buckle, turn over and sew with small stitches over the inside seams (2). On the outside buckles these stitches should not be visible.
How to sew a buckle with a pin From the open straight end of the belt, measure approx. 3 cm and punch a hole for the peg buckles. Overcast the hole along the entire circumference with a buttonhole stitch (3). Insert the pin into the hole.

Turn the end of the belt onto the inside of the belt and sew it with overlock stitches (4) or overcast the edges with a zigzag stitch and stitch the end of the belt (5). At the other end of the belt, punch the blocks: one - in exact accordance with the waist circumference, and the rest - at intervals - approx. 3 cm.
Blocks can be made in a workshop (usually a metal repair shop). You can make the blocks yourself by purchasing a kit in a store and using the included instructions. I prefer to make blocks in the workshop - it has a more marketable appearance.
Other options for wrapping a buckle A round buckle can be covered with leatherette or leather tape, thick threads of the desired color (burgundy buckle in the photo at the beginning of the article) and simply crocheted.

Hard belt
Its name speaks for itself. For such a belt, a pattern is always given and it is necessarily reinforced with a special rigid gasket (for example, Schabrackeneinlage). You can also iron interlining H 250 in several layers.
A rigid belt made of fabric is sewn like a regular belt, with the only difference being that to speed up the sewing process, you can fold the belt parts right sides together and stitch the longitudinal sections, leaving the straight short sections open.
and a belt, made by yourself, will decorate your new thing.

Model from Burda magazine

Hello dear!

I tested these ideas and am slowly purchasing/sewing these things (accessories, jewelry, shoes) for my wardrobe.

They really suit all body types, the items are simple in design, but this is not a wardrobe from Evelina Khromtchenko. I was pleased that among the 50 items offered there was no alcoholic T-shirt, which does not suit me at all. And there are also such original things that no one usually wears, only those whom we consider very stylish)

In general, the theory, as always, is very simple. Well, how we love

In addition, the course includes determining the color type and issuing convenient palettes for my shopping. Yes, it turned out that I’m a light spring, but it’s a shame)

By the way, it turned out that those colors to which I have always been drawn in life (and in the interior too) suit me best - light, clean, delicate.

And yet, I don’t wear trousers (for me personally, this is not cost-effective; my trousers and jeans were constantly torn before), but I do wear leggings. Therefore, my ideal things turned out to be not 50, but 46. I will share with you on the blog information on these things - how to choose, where to buy, something easier, faster and cheaper to sew.

And today it will be basic wide belt, it is also called sash belt or OBI belt.

What should a basic wide belt be?

  • simple design
  • good quality
  • without buckles and other parts
  • plain
  • dark shades of your color palette (in the course everything is indicated conveniently and clearly by color)

This belt is suitable for all other items in the wardrobe, always looks stylish, visually narrows the waist and correctly changes the shape of voluminous items.

How to sew a basic wide sash?

I couldn't find such a belt in stores, so I decided to sew it myself. It matches all my skirts perfectly and emphasizes my waist.

One side of my belt is leather (I ripped open an old leather vest), the other is black fabric, scraps from sewing skirts.

You need to make the patterns yourself. And it’s better to first sew such a belt from ordinary fabric (as I did) and see if certain sizes suit you. In the article I will provide patterns according to my sizes (waist 65 cm, height 157), but I think it will suit other sizes. But the larger the woman, the wider the belt should be to harmonize with her build. Yes, there is a slot in the belt so that when tying, one end of the belt is threaded into it (on the back) and moved forward. This article will contain MK, how to sew such a basic wide OBI sash belt, what to wear it with and inspiring images.

Master class on sewing a wide basic belt-sash

My belt was planned to be leather on the outside, and regular black fabric on the inside (the side towards the body).

I needed:

  • skin flaps
  • scraps of black fabric
  • doublerin (any color)
  • black threads
  • a foot for thick fabric or a sewing machine that can handle leather.

1. Cut a basic wide belt

Because I first tried everything on regular fabric, but now I boldly cut it directly on the skin. I add 1 cm allowances on all sides, incl. for the seam of the slot. I draw the details and cut them out.

I then lay these leather pieces face to face with the black fabric and cut the inside of the waistband. It is important not to confuse all these bevels on parts 2, 3 and 4

2. Sewing the basic OBI belt

The scheme is simple.

We duplicate all the details with duplicator- both external and internal belts. I duplicated the details over the entire area, but it was possible not to duplicate the seam allowances, otherwise I would get tired of sewing such a thickness.

Sew together the details of each belt in the order as in the figure, from 1 to 6 parts.

Iron the seams. With skin only through a damp cloth and a low-heat iron.

We sew the place where the slot will be only 1 cm from each edge, then iron it out (I also secured it with pins).

How to sew a belt with your own hands? It's not difficult at all! In general, belts vary in how they are fastened: they are simply tied or they use some kind of fastening hardware. A variety of buckles, hooks, buttons, buttons, etc. can be used as such accessories.

Belts that are supposed to be tied are usually much longer than belts with a fastener and, accordingly, you will need more fabric to sew them. You should add at least 40 cm to your waist circumference, and it is best to first tie a rope, ribbon or centimeter around your waist, select the length of the ends of the belt after the knot that suits the model, and measure the total length.

For a belt that will be fastened with a buckle, add about 15 cm to the waist circumference measurement and punch holes: one exactly according to the waist circumference, and several others in increments of 2.5-3 cm.

Belts that will be tied are not additionally reinforced in any way, unlike belts with buckles and shaped belts, which must be backed up with a rigid adhesive cushioning material. If such material is not available, you can use adhesive interlining, ironing it in several layers.

The tie belt and belted belt are basically rectangles, while the shaped belt is shaped slightly curved to fit the shape of the body. Most often, such a belt is fastened with buttons or it can be made with eyelets installed at the edges and tightened with lacing.

They create style and definition The tone of the outfit is: businesslike, casual, romantic, daring, playful. Fashion for belts changes as often as for clothing. How to make a belt with your own hands with a buckle?

Making a belt with a buckle will require a lot of time and patience from you, but sewing it is not difficult. It can be made from thin leather or a high-quality substitute; it will also need to be sealed with a hard non-woven fabric or a special lining-seal for belts. Moreover, the lining must be cut without seam allowances. There are 2 main ways to make buckle belts: classic and accelerated. To make a belt you will need: fabric, leather or dermantine 15 cm longer than the circumference of your waist, a padding lining of the same length, a buckle.

Let's first consider the classic method of making a belt. Cut out 2 strips of fabric, their width should be equal to the width of the belt you want to get, and their length should be equal to the waist circumference plus 15 cm. You should also take into account the seam allowances, optimally 0.5-0.7 cm. You need to cut from the lining stripes with the same length and width as the belt only without seam allowances. When all the parts are cut out, iron the interlining or a special seal for the belts onto the outer part of the product from the wrong side.

Baste the allowances on the cuts of the outer part to the wrong side along the edge of the seal, as shown in the figure. The seam allowances at the corners should be slightly tucked. Also baste the allowances on the cuts of the inner part to the wrong side. Now iron both pieces and then fold them so that the wrong sides are on the inside and pin them together with safety pins. Stitch the belt from the front side along the edges, while also grabbing the inner part.

The accelerated method is somewhat different from the classic one. To make a belt, you will need 1 strip of fabric or leather, the length equal to the length of the belt with seam allowances, and the width should correspond to double the width of the finished product. The sealing lining is equal to the length of the finished product and the width of one part of the belt; seam allowances do not need to be taken into account.

Fold the strip of fabric lengthwise and in half, with the right side on the inside. Then start stitching down the longitudinal sections. Fold the garment so that the seam is in the middle, and iron the seam allowances. Now move on to processing short cuts. Stitch the edges of the waistband to the desired shape. For convenience, you can use a template for the ends of the belt.

Then trim off the seam allowances, leaving a few mm. Cut the allowances at the corners of the waistband at an angle, and make notches at the rounded corners. Next, turn the product right side out and iron it, paying special attention to the ends and edges. Paste in by i With the lining with the adhesive side facing the seams, iron the waistband with the lining. Final stage- stitching the product along the contour.

Sewing the buckle and covering it with fabric. Make a small hole 3 cm from the free edge of the belt and cut out a circle using a hole punch or an awl. Finish the hole with a buttonhole stitch and thread a peg through it. Wrap the jumper with the end of the belt and baste it to the wrong side of the belt with an oblique or zigzag seam, and then topstitch. Punch blocks on the opposite side. One of them should be at a distance around the waist, and all the others should be at intervals of 3 cm.

Buckles covered with fabric look beautiful; this method will also help in cases where you cannot find a suitable one in the store. To cover the buckle with fabric, you can use the same material as for the belt itself or something else. First, cut out 2 pieces of fabric that correspond to the size of the buckle plus allowances for stitching. If the fabric is thin, then seal its outer part with non-woven fabric, ironing it on the wrong side. Fold the parts right sides inward, mark the outer contour of the buckle with chalk or a simple pencil. The inner contour must be marked with a line of small stitches. Cut out the fabric inside the stitching, leave a seam allowance of about 5 mm around the perimeter, and notch the corners.

Cut the piece of fabric close to the stitching using short sections for the jumper. Then turn the piece right side out and put it on the buckle. The seam should be on the inner edge of the buckle. Now cut the part of the fabric that you cut for the jumper, adjusting it to the width of the buckle and glue it with special fabric glue, and then sew it crosswise to the bottom. The stitches should not be visible from the front side. At the corners, cut the bottom of the fabric and tuck it in, then wrap the edges around the buckle, fold it over and hem it with small stitches on the side of the inner seam. Make sure that the stitches are not visible on the right side of the waistband.

DIY wide belt : manufacturing

This belt is called “Obi”; it can be sewn from fabric, leather or suede. This belt model looks very elegant and luxurious. First of all, you need to measure your waist circumference and prepare the necessary materials. To sew an obi belt you will need: any fabric, leather, dermantine or suede, interlining and a printed pattern (pictured). Pattern scale - 1 square corresponds to 2.5 cm of the product, the pattern includes seam allowances of 0.5 cm. Belt pattern details:

  1. Detail of the middle part of the belt with a fold.
  2. 2 side parts of the product.
  3. 2 tie pieces- with a bend.
  4. 2 parts for a brush.

First, make tucks in the front part, matching the points that were transferred from the paper pattern. You will need to sew stitches along the pintucks using a sewing machine. The fabric cuts on the sides must be overcast by hand or with an overlocker. You can also glue the side edges with the thinnest non-woven fabric, ironing it on them.

The sections of the side part of the product must be covered with a hem seam.

Connect the side parts of the belt with the middle one, folding the side part with the central part, right sides inward. In this case, the side cuts should be aligned evenly. Now the parts can be stitched together and the new seam pressed, the cut should be smoothed to the side of the product. Machine stitch along the front side, departing from the edge approximately 5 mm. Make sure that the stitching and the distance from the edge are even throughout, otherwise the work will look sloppy. The stitching will not only serve a decorative function, it will also strengthen the side seam.

Now you need to start processing the ties. Fold the seams back to back on both sides and fold them in half, then topstitch along the long side on the right side. Also sew the 2nd tie. fold it up three times along the long edge and under fire part. Then the product iron and fold the rest. Further stitched on a sewing machine.

Place one free end of the tie into the narrow part on the side to a depth of at least 2 cm. Then stitch the edge, connecting the parts of the product. Do the same with the second tie.

Decorate the free edges of the ties with tassels as shown in the photo. To make the tassels hold more firmly, secure them with machine stitching.

How to sew a belt according to your body shape?

The figured belt is made according to a special pattern and exactly matches the shape of the body. It can be wide or narrow, and just like a belt with a buckle, it is reinforced with a padding lining or non-woven fabric in several layers. The algorithm for making this product is similar to sewing a belt. A figured belt can be strengthened with inserts similar to those inserted into corsets. It is made of fabric, wool or leather.

DIY belt: video

It’s easy to sew a belt with your own hands, and even someone who has never had sewing experience can cope with this task. Start by doing models with ties, and then move on to more complex types of belts and figured belts. It is easiest to sew a belt from soft and thin fabrics; working with leather and dermantine requires some sewing skills.

Any belt must have its own rigidity so that it retains its original shape during wear. Since the belt is an important clothing accessory, it must be done professionally. A simple belt with a fastener is sealed with ordinary medium-density non-woven fabric. Rigid belts and belts are sealed using heavy adhesive materials, including those used to stiffen lambrequins. There are also special adhesive tapes for belts. The main requirement is that the seal must adhere firmly to the fabric. Most removable belts and belts are attached to the product using belt loops. Belt loops are special loops sewn into the side seams of your product.

Classification of belts and straps

Old items made of natural or artificial leather are suitable for this.

If the material is thick enough, then the belt does not need to be duplicated. It is better to duplicate thin leather with thick fabric, grosgrain tape or non-woven fabric.
Here are some ideas for original belts (Fig. 1), the diagrams of which are presented in Fig. 2. One square = 2.5 cm. The length of the belt should be increased in accordance with your waist size.
Belt with duplicating material. Option 1. If the fabric for the belt does not fray, it is dense enough, but not very thick. Glue the interlining to the waistband. Place the pieces right sides together, baste, and sew, leaving a small area at the back of the waistband for turning out. Turn it right side out, sweep out the waistband, and iron from the lining side. Make a decorative delay (by machine or by hand), remembering to sew up the turning hole.

The “flower” motif is shown in Fig. 2 (1 cell=1cm). We transfer the motif onto tracing paper and make a template from cardboard. From pieces of leather we cut out 7 motifs according to the template. On each motif we make 2 cuts according to the markings. The length of the cut depends on the width of the strap. We string the motifs onto the belt, distributing them evenly. To prevent the motifs from moving, you can secure them with rubber glue.
Very quickly you can make one like this DIY belt and update your wardrobe.

DIY buckle

- a decorative element that should look beautiful and impressive.

At all times, representatives of the fair sex try to keep up with fashion, look well-groomed, stylish and attractive. Through clothing and accessories, makeup, and hairstyles, girls and women express their inner mood, emphasize their natural advantages and correct shortcomings. Most often, various accessories that needlewomen create at home help create a special and unique look: earrings, watches, belts, chains with interesting pendants, bracelets. How to sew a belt for a dress with your own hands from fabric? Quite simple.

The dress is perhaps the favorite among women's outfits. Even the simplest dress with a belt can instantly make a woman’s look stylish and individual, giving it a twist. In the fashion world, there are three main forms of belts: soft, hard with a buckle (belt) and figured.

Soft belt

For an exciting creative process you will need:

  • meter;
  • textile;
  • threads, needle, scissors, chalk;
  • interlining;
  • accessories;
  • decorative elements (if you want to create a bright evening look).

Stages of the creative process:

  1. Using a meter, you need to take the main measurement - waist circumference. Double the resulting figure. You also need to take into account 2 cm for allowances and 4 cm for the fastener. Thus, it turns out: belt length = waist circumference x 2 + 2 cm + 4 cm. The width of the belt can be any, it all depends on the model of the dress and individual preferences.
  1. Based on the obtained dimensions, cut out the product. It is best to cut the belt according to the width of the fabric, since the weave of the fabric along the weft thread is more elastic and it will be easier to shape the belt.
  2. Next you need to cut out the interlining and glue it to the product.

Nonwoven- This is a non-woven material with glue on one side. With its help, you can add additional density to the fabric and fix the shape so that the product does not deform when worn. The length of this part will be equal to the length of the belt. You can glue the interlining to the wrong side using an iron and remove the excess.

  1. Fold the product in half lengthwise and iron.
  2. The belt folded in half with the right side inward must be sewn along one short edge and along the entire length along the cut.
  3. Carefully turn the product right side out and sew the remaining side slit. After this, iron the belt well.
  4. Manually sew buttons (or other selected type of fastener), if they are provided in the intended model.

Such a belt can be decorated, for example, as in the photo above. Then the image will turn out romantic and elegant.

Classic belts can be made not only narrow, but also wide, the main thing is not to forget to reinforce them with non-woven fabric. These accessories can be secured at the waist using snaps, buttons, Velcro or hooks. Or you can sew a belt without fasteners, just tie it. This option is perfect not only for a dress.

Decorating these things is a separate niche for creativity and imagination. You can decorate them with beads, rhinestones, buttons, chains, beautiful appliqués and embroidery.

Wide option

Wide belts are very popular among fashionistas. They favorably emphasize the waist, hide some figure imperfections and add glamor to the image. Sewing them is a little more difficult than soft classic ones, but it’s still worth the effort. The result will fully repay the efforts.

  1. First you need to cut out all the details of the future belt: two central parts for the belt and four parts for the ties.

In addition, in order for the belt to keep its shape and not deform during wear, both central parts will need to be reinforced with a grosgrain ribbon. Its length will be equal to the length of the belt minus two centimeters. To calculate the length of the belt, the waist circumference must be divided by half. The width of the belt according to the figure will be of two values: at the widest point, and at the narrowest point.

The ties should be cut out in the shape of rectangles 6 cm wide plus 2 cm for allowances. To calculate the length of the ties, you need to add up half the waist circumference and the estimated length of the ends.

It is important to add 1 cm to seam allowances around the entire perimeter of the waistband. Below is a diagram to make it easier to cut out the central parts of the product.

  1. After the pattern is ready, all the details of the future belt should be transferred to the wrong side of the fabric and carefully cut out.
  2. Next you need to sew the ties. To do this, fasten the edges with a pin and stitch along the part. On one side, the edges of the ties are slightly rounded. Turn them right side out and iron them lightly.
  3. Sew the grosgrain ribbon to the center pieces.
  4. Place the ties on the front side of one of the main parts of the waistband. Place the second main piece on top of the first with the front side facing inward. Fasten them with pins and secure the ends of the ties so that they do not move during sewing.

A small part of the stitching should be left, since through it the belt can be turned right side out. And then sew the left hole.

This is a very versatile accessory, it can be worn with jumpers, dresses, jackets, and in combination with a circle skirt the waist will look especially thin. Thanks to the adjustable ties, it can be worn on thin or bulky clothes, the ends of the ties can be tied in a knot or bow, on the side or in the front - the variations are endless!

Knitted OBI

Super belt! in the style of Japanese obi. you can play with colors and textures, you can create any decor

Master class on sewing an OBI belt

1. Materials. We will need fabric, a sewing machine, thread, scissors, a ruler, a pencil, and a sheet of paper for the pattern. Obi belts can be sewn from any material from silk to genuine leather. In my example, I used faux leather.

2. Pattern. I made a schematic drawing of what the pattern of the wide part of the belt should approximately look like, this is only half, we will finish the second on the fabric symmetrically or cut it out with a fold. The obi belt consists of 2 parts: the belt itself (the wide part) and 2 ties. The length of the belt is equal to the waist circumference, therefore in the drawing it is half the circumference, VG is the middle of the front of the belt. My belt width (WG) is 7 cm, from halfway through the pattern (BD) the belt begins to narrow to 3 cm - this is the width of the ties (AE is the place where the ties will be sewn). Add allowances of 1 cm, this is a dotted line in the drawing. The pattern of the ties is 2 identical rectangles 8 cm wide (of which 2 cm allowances) and 1/2 the length of the waist circumference + the desired length of the free ends, for me the length of the ties turned out to be 65 cm.

3. I transfer the details of the pattern onto the fabric (wrong side): 2 parts of the belt and 2 parts of the ties.

4. I cut it out, and this is what happened.

5. I start sewing with ties, pinning them in half with pins.

6. I stitch, on one side I round the ends a little.

7. I cut the allowance to 2-3mm to reduce the thickness of the finished item, but this can only be done with fabric whose edge does not fray too much.

8. I turn out the ties.

9. The ties are ready. I iron it lightly through a thin cotton fabric.

10. I place the ties on the belt piece strictly in the center.

11. Riddle for those with big eyes: find the belt in this photo :). I place the second part of the belt on top and pin it together; be especially careful to secure the edges of the belt with the ties so that they do not run away during stitching. Reminds me of making a sandwich? :)

12. I sew it off, leave a small hole at the edge of the belt, and through it I will turn the belt inside out.

13. I cut the allowance to 3 mm.

14. I turn the belt inside out, hem the hole through which I turned it inside out, iron it and that’s it, the belt is ready! Hurry up and try it on! :)

Stitched OBI

To make the Belt - Obi we will need:
two strips of fabric, one 15 cm wide, the other 10 cm and ~1.5 m long (can be the same color, but contrasting ones look more interesting);
rolled paper for a pattern (you can glue several A4 sheets with tape);
threads to match the fabric;
scissors, sewing machine, pins and other sewing supplies.
The belt will consist of a main part (mine is beige) and ties (gray-brown).

1) First of all, you should make a pattern for the main part. To do this, take a rectangle of paper, the length equal to the waist circumference, and the width equal to the widest part of the belt (mine is 15 cm); fold it in half; draw a “trapezoid”, the bases of which will be a fold and a segment equal to the width of the proposed ties (mine are 5 cm) and cut it out.

2) We apply the pattern to ourselves and cut off the excess from it - we should get smooth curves according to the figure.

3) Fold the fabric for the main part in half, trace our template and cut it out, not forgetting to leave seam allowances. You should end up with two identical parts.

4) Place the two pieces together, right sides facing in, and stitch/sew them together.
NB! At this stage, only the top seam is sewn:

5) Turn the workpiece inside out. Now you need to hem it so that the seam is slightly “pulled” to one side, that is, it is not visible from the other side. The side from which the seam is not visible will now be the front side for the belt, the second side will be the wrong side.
This simple procedure will allow you to avoid stitching around the perimeter of the finished product... in general, it will greatly simplify life and speed up the production of the belt.

The wrong side of the ironed workpiece
After these manipulations, the back side became slightly longer than the front side. But we need to do the opposite. We shorten it by about 1 cm (to be safe: how much longer it was multiply by two).

6) It's time for ties.
They don't require any special pattern. We cut the fabric in half, we should get two blanks twice as wide as the width of the planned ties (mine are 5*2=10cm), we leave the length at maximum for now, it’s better to cut it later, when you can try it on.

Another trick - so that the machine does not have to sew 8 layers of fabric at a time, it is also better to move the side seams (the junction of the main part of the belt with the ties) a little. To do this, cut off the edges of the main part of the workpiece slightly at an angle, approximately 2 cm, as shown in the figure. We do this in a mirror manner on both sides.
We attach the ties to the main part so that everything together is an even line... well, not a line, but generally a straight line... and trace the desired angle of the cut on the ties:

Now in the finished product the side seams will not overlap each other, and the waistband will remain even.
7) We attach the ties to the main part; to do this, we put them together with the front sides facing inward, do not forget that they are cut obliquely and when unfolded, the belt should remain straight:

8) Now fold the entire piece in half (lengthwise, with the right side of the fabric inward). We have the most important part ahead of us: stitching the lower part of the belt. To avoid mistakes, it is better to sew large stitches by hand first and see what happens. Don't be afraid: the belt will be a little skewed due to the fact that the front and back are different lengths (why? - point 5); The “top” and “bottom” of the side seams will not meet (why? - point 6). It is better to start stitching from the middle.

Now you can sympathize.
9) The result was a blank, stitched at the top and bottom and with small holes on the sides in the ties. We turn the belt through one of them and iron it so that the seams are “hidden” on the wrong side.

10) Try it on yourself, decide how long the ties should be. We cut off the excess, fold the edges inward (you can straight, you can at an angle) and sew it up:

OBI BELT PATTERNS

OPTION 1

1. This is the simplest version of the belt. Ribbon 180, cut in half, we get 2 ties. Fold the rectangular part of the belt in half. Cover one side with non-woven fabric. Cut off the forty sections, grabbing one end of a piece of tape in the middle of each side. Stitch the short and longitudinal sections, leaving a 5 cm section in one section for turning. Turn the belt inside out and stitch up the open area.

OPTION 2

2. This type of belt is extremely similar to the original obi. Japanese women tie something similar over their kimono. Fold the top belt in half, duplicate one layer with hard interlining. Next, sew all the seams, leaving a section in one place for turning. Turn the belt inside out and stitch the open area. Next, to make the fastener, as the most optimal option, you will need Velcro; we sew one side of it on one side of the belt, and the other on the other. We make small loops on the sides, into which we will later insert another smaller belt. The top belt can be made from regular ribbon or even decorative cord. The rope looks even more amazing...

OPTION 3

3. This belt is a little more difficult to make, but the most effective. The middle part should be well duplicated. It is better to choose hard non-woven fabric. You can do without seams, just fold the parts and cut out the top and bottom layers. Or you can leave the side seams. Here according to desire and opportunity.

And something else for dessert!

Corset belt

belt corset

From blue and yellow fabric, cut out 1 piece, each measuring 15 x 100 cm. Reinforce the parts with non-woven fabric G 405, sew them cleanly, and hand-sew the open area in the seam for turning inside out. At one short edge, sew 2 horizontal loops, and at the other - 2 loops diagonally. Cut out a strip measuring 5 x 150 cm from yellow fabric, sew it out cleanly, and iron it well. Thread the strip through the loops and tie with a bow.

Obi belt “Wider circle”

From pink and white fabric, cut out 1 piece, each measuring 90 x 24 cm. Reinforce the parts with interlining G 405 and sew further, like the blue belt on the left. From black fabric, cut out 2 strips of 12 x 100 cm, stitch into one strip along short sections, sew cleanly. Then embellish the stripe with hand stitches in a needle-forward stitch using white glitter thread.

Obi belt “Y-shape”

The model is made using the clutch technique: the Y-shaped belt consists of two parts nested one inside the other.

You will need

Cotton fabric in black and yellow colors, 30 x 150 cm in size, interlining G 405, thread, scissors, thick knitting needle, templates in the form of the letter Y and a rectangle.

Step 1

From yellow and black fabric, cut out 2 Y-pieces, as well as 2 rectangles. Reinforce the parts with non-woven fabric.

Step 2

Place the Y pieces right sides together. Sew along the outline, leaving short edges open. Turn out the parts using a knitting needle. Iron the edges, stitch the details to the edge.

Step 3

Grind the rectangles cleanly, leaving the longitudinal sections open on one side. Press seam allowances to the wrong side. Place the ends of the Y-pieces into rectangles, stitch them along the contour to the edge.
