Victory Day is an expensive and important holiday for all of Russia. We will tell you how to make postcards for May 9 with your own hands in a detailed master class. Elderly people value the attention and care of loved ones and the younger generation. What could be more valuable to a veteran of the Great Patriotic War than a postcard made by a child. Here you will find many templates and practical tips. The postcard for May 9 is a lesson in kindness and respect for veterans.

The simplest option for kids: cards made of colored cardboard. What is Victory Day? These are red flowers, a festive ribbon, fireworks, and Victory stars. A child can do all this: glue and draw. The flowers on our template are multi-colored, let the child’s imagination itself tell you what color they will be.

To work you will need:

  1. Colored cardboard.
  2. Stationery glue.
  3. A piece of foil for fireworks.
  4. Scissors.
  5. Ruler, pencil.

In order to make an interesting postcard for May 9, we need to take a sheet of thick cardboard in light blue or dark blue. This color symbolizes a peaceful sky. Draw 2 parallel lines in the middle of the sheet and carefully make cuts. This will be a vase. Next, bend the sheet of cardboard as in the photo: in one direction and the other. This will make the postcard three-dimensional. You can make a vase, or you can glue green stems and leaves.

Then we cut a rectangle of green cardboard for the stem and roll it up:

We got these flowers. We glue them with glue to the stems and then to the vase.

You can make these voluminous red stars:

All that remains is to glue the inscription cut out of red cardboard (templates included). “Fireworks” can be drawn on the top of the card, or cut out small stars from foil and glue them.

To make it easier to make a postcard for May 9, you can use all kinds of templates: print them or draw them by hand.

Such an interesting postcard for May 9 will turn out if you try to make the work more complicated. Such postcards are also called paper tunnels. The principle of this technique is to make an interesting three-dimensional image. The technique is used when working with theatrical scenery, in large children's books and for voluminous postcards made by hand. We will do the work step by step.

To work you will need:

  1. Colored cardboard.
  2. White and green corrugated paper.
  3. St. George Ribbon
  4. Glue stick for paper.
  5. Model knife.
  6. Ruler.
  7. Pencil.

First, we draw a mock-up sketch of the future postcard.

Fold a sheet of office paper in half. We draw templates for our postcard for Victory Day:

Carefully cut out the contours with a breadboard knife.

We attach the cut out paper templates to colored cardboard and trace the outlines with a pencil.

We cut out our blanks with a knife. From a sketchbook, cut out a sheet of the same size as ½ of an office sheet.

We add small details to our blanks, cut out stars, a propeller, and glue them onto cardboard. On a sheet of drawing paper we draw a bright fireworks display with felt-tip pens. On the reverse side we write congratulations on Victory Day.

We decorate the top layer of the card with apple tree flowers, leaves and St. George's ribbon. For apple tree flowers, cut out circles from corrugated paper, three for each flower. Fold the circles in half, ⅓ and then ⅓. Trim the edges to make a flower. We cut the first and second and third petals. We need the flower to be cone-shaped.

Place all 3 parts of the petal inside each other. We cut out circles from thick paper and glue our flowers on them.

The stamens for the flower can be made from 0.3-0.5 cm wire. We wrap the wire with paper or cotton wool, making thickenings at the ends. We make a hole in the center of the flowers and insert the stamens there.

We cut out the leaves from green corrugated paper and glue them to the base of the flower.

We decorate the top part of the card: glue the St. George ribbon and flowers.

From the album we cut out 2 rectangles 10.5 cm wide. The height of the rectangle is equal to the height of the postcard. Draw lines at a distance of 1.5 cm, bend the sheet along the lines. It turned out to be 2 accordions.

We collect the postcard itself. Glue the sheet with the fireworks design to the accordion.

Glue the next layers.

The result was a beautiful three-dimensional postcard.

Completing the work “Postcard to a Veteran.”

I would like to offer two options for working using the paper applique technique “Postcard to a Veteran.” Almost identical templates will be required for both jobs.
We will be working with scissors, so we need to remember how to handle scissors while working.
When working with scissors, observe the following rules:
1. Keep your workplace tidy.
2. Before work, check the serviceability of the tools.
3. Do not use loose scissors. Use scissors with rounded ends.
4. Work only with serviceable tools: well-adjusted and sharpened scissors.
5. Use scissors only in your own workplace.
6. Watch the movement of the blades while working.
7. Place the scissors with the rings facing you.
8. Feed the scissors rings forward.
9. Don't leave scissors open.
10. Store scissors in a case with the blades facing down.
11. Don't play with scissors, don't bring scissors to your face.
12. Use scissors as intended.

Let's prepare the templates. You have templates on your tables, with the help of which we will cut out all the details of our future postcard. Choose the color of cardboard for the postcard to your taste. You can choose black, brown or gray paper color for the machine. For a helmet, green is suitable, and the star is red. For the order you need brown, red and yellow paper. The inscription “May 9” can be made in any color, the main thing is that it does not blend in with the color of the cardboard.

For the postcard we need templates for a machine gun, a helmet with a small star, templates for an order, the inscription “May 9,” flowers and leaves.
1. Select a sheet of cardboard for the future postcard. Let's fold it in half so that our postcard opens. Place the applique vertically on the card.

2. Cut out the machine and glue it onto cardboard.

3. Cut out the helmet and glue it.

4. Cut out a small star and glue it to the helmet.

5. Cut out the details of the order and glue them onto the postcard.

6. Cut out the inscription “May 9” and glue it to the bottom.

7. Cut out the flowers and glue the centers on them.

8. Glue flowers and leaves onto the card.

9. Glue yellow (or orange) stripes onto the order.

10. We will print out the text of congratulations for the veteran and paste it into the postcard.
Dear veterans!
You are a great example for us!
How to be faithful, strong, brave
A human being with a soul!
Let Victory Day become far away,
You are still as young!
Happy holiday! And many years to you,
And always, always - spring!

The postcard is ready.

You can use the same templates to make another card.
For the second postcard, we need templates for a banner, a helmet with a star, the inscription “May 9,” flowers and leaves.
1. Select a sheet of cardboard for the postcard. Let's fold it in half. On this card we will apply the appliqué horizontally.

2. Cut out the details of the banner and glue them onto cardboard.

3. Cut out the helmet and a small star. Glue the helmet onto the postcard.

4. Cut out the inscription “May 9” and glue it.

5. Decorate the card with flowers and leaves.

6. Print out the text of the congratulations on a printer and paste it inside the postcard.
Dear veterans!
We sincerely congratulate you on your HOLIDAY – VICTORY DAY!!!
Today is a holiday full of light,
On a beautiful day for the whole country
To you for a GREAT VICTORY
We must all bow down!
Even though we don't see each other often,
But on the day that is so warmed by May,
We wish you health, happiness,

Good luck, peace, many years to come!

Hello friends!

May 9th is approaching. This is the Victory Day holiday. We begin to prepare for an important event to congratulate our glorious warriors. And the best congratulations remain cards made with your own hands with love and soul.

On this significant day, we will go to the parade with joy and respect. Or we will visit the memorial with the eternal flame to lay flowers - carnations. It’s great to take a walk to the city center with the kids and greet the veterans in person. This is where our crafts come in handy, to personally present them to the grandfathers and grandmothers who fought.

In addition, exhibitions and even competitions are organized on this topic in kindergartens and schools. And you can take first place. Therefore, I offer you my selection of ready-made works from the Internet. I recommend not to copy exactly, but to take ideas and create your own unique masterpiece!

DIY Victory Day cards

First, let's look at options for creating crafts with children using different techniques. And then you can start directly creating them.

The most necessary tools for postcards are thick and colored paper, cardboard, markers, paints, scissors, glue and sometimes improvised materials. And this always happens in any home, especially with small children).

Here are works using the quilling technique. We have already condemned it more than once, but let me remind you that this is a technique of twisting different shapes of tubes from strips of paper. These are the details that will be used to create a beautiful composition.

Composition with a dove of peace, St. George's ribbon and a three-dimensional star.

Here we use napkins, or rather balls made from them. It’s very easy to make such lumps, which we then glue onto cardboard.

A very beautiful postcard with a tank and an airplane against the backdrop of fireworks. And here are the materials at hand from ready-made flowers and an orange and black striped ribbon.

The most beautiful work comes out if a piece of your soul is put into it. Therefore, create with passion, joy and inspiration!

It can be repeated, but make a cruiser instead of a tank. What do you think?

Carnations and flowers in general are always in theme (except roses). These are such cute bouquets, and even tied with a victory ribbon, you can depict them on the front side.

The soldier's helmet well symbolizes our great holiday.

Excellent applique made of corrugated carnations.

Here is another visual creation in the quilling style.

And we finish again with carnations. They are more relevant and in demand in this topic than ever.

As you can see, there are very simple jobs that can be easily done with children 3-4 years old, and there are more difficult ones for schoolchildren. I wish you more imagination and let’s run to make a voluminous interesting version.

How to make a congratulation with a dove of peace using the quilling technique?

The dove of peace symbolizes good intentions. This expression originated after the end of World War II.

Let's make a simple craft in the quilling style with this good symbol. This easy-to-follow activity will introduce children to new technology. By the way, in previous notes already.

We need:

  • Curly and regular scissors
  • Colored cardboard
  • Colored paper
  • Glue stick
  • Simple pencil
  • Strips 0.5 cm wide and 30 cm long (green, purple and red)
  • Toothpick

Work process:

1. Let's prepare all materials and tools. Let's find beautiful poems and print out the dove. By the way, the bird template is at the bottom of my note.

2. Screw the rolls onto toothpicks. To do this, cut one end of the stick in half. We attach the end of the strip there and wind it tightly.

3. Cut a sheet of yellow cardboard with curly scissors. Then we bend it in half.

4. Glue a sheet of poetry to the inside of the cardboard.

Poems do not have to be printed. You can write them yourself by hand.

5. Give the red and purple rolls the shape of arrows. And from the green ones we will make crescents and leaves.

6. Cut out a strip 2.5-3 cm wide from black paper. And from orange paper we make three strips of 0.5 cm each.

7. Glue the orange stripes onto the black tape. We will place it and the dove on the front side of the craft.

8. We will glue our carnations under the bird. Just remember to make the stems as indicated in the collage below.

A peaceful and kind postcard is ready! We feel free to give it as a gift. You can also participate in the competition.

We make an original and voluminous postcard

Let's make a simple but stylish work using the scrapbooking technique. And creating is incredibly interesting and educational. Fortunately, ready-made kits using this technique are sold in any office supply store.

Simple crafts for kids in kindergarten on May 9

Now let's look at some easy-to-make holiday greetings. After all, it is often not easy for small children to do them on their own. But under the strict guidance of parents and educators, it is possible to make interesting works with simple symbols. Most often this is a St. George ribbon, carnations, fireworks applique or star.

Let's look at a small composition of napkin balls. We already saw it at the beginning of the note. Now let's see the progress of the work.

We will need 2 colors of plain napkins, paper glue, A4 sheet, white thin paper, scissors and a simple pencil.

1. Fold the A4 sheet in half. This is a future postcard. Let's draw a star on it with a pencil, a nine and the words “May” inside.

2. Now let’s make balls from red napkins. We glue them along the contour. If there are not enough lumps, add new ones.

3. Make 20 circles and fold them in half. These are our petals. Place them on glue in the form of flowers. Inside each of them we glue three spools of napkins of a different color. Voila, you're done!

Here are a couple of simple applique crafts.

The emphasis is on the number 9. It goes well with flowers and striped ribbon.

Let's look at how to make simple carnations and voluminous stars. They can then be easily glued onto the card. And to help with this I have selected several simple methods.

Here we make cones, and then we get a prefabricated flower.

And another option from napkins. We fold them like an accordion and insert them into a loop of woolen thread. We fluff the bud in the form of a carnation.

Here we make a flower from corrugated paper using a toothpick. In general, corrugated paper is ideal for creating flowers. It is thin and fluffy and takes the desired shape well.

Now let’s look at master classes on voluminous five-pointed stars. And the first way is to fold a piece of paper as indicated below.

Finally, we cut it off with scissors and unfold the finished five-pointed beauty.

If this still seemed difficult to you, then here is a simpler option from a ready-made template. And it can be found and printed at the bottom of my note.

And see what you can do with these attributes.

Bright bouquet

Strict card with the star “I remember, I’m proud”

Be creative, make crafts with your little ones and let your works be the best. Next, let's look at some interesting ideas about gifts for glorious warriors.

Interesting paper ideas to congratulate WWII veterans

It has already become a tradition to congratulate our dear grandparents who fought with such triangular cards. This is a front letter.

To make it, you need to fold a sheet of paper into a triangle. On this sheet it is best to write kind words and congratulations on Victory Day to veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

Oh, how our glorious warriors at the front waited for news from family and friends. Each such letter warmed them every day and gave them strength to fight for freedom from fascist oppression.

Such leaves deliberately age and make them look unsightly. So that they certainly correspond to real letters from the front. And you can decorate the front side again with the St. George ribbon, flowers, stars or the victorious Soviet emblem.

I will show you ways to decorate news cards.

Each such letter will delight and touch the veterans. Especially from children's hands.

Here the decoration is with ribbon and dahlias.

Simple news from sheets of checkered notebooks.

Let's watch a short video about how to make an interesting craft. Good luck in your creativity!

Step-by-step master class on making work for school

I propose to make a wonderful “Hero’s Golden Star” postcard. We will use simple materials such as colored paper and thick cardboard. The only thing is, stock up on curly scissors. We will have to use them to beautifully decorate the edges of the craft.

We need:

  • Curly and regular scissors
  • Colored cardboard
  • Colored paper
  • Glue stick
  • Simple pencil
  • Ruler

Work process:

1. We will prepare and purchase all materials.

You can download and print templates for ribbons, stars and orders at the bottom of the master class.

2. Transfer the printed template of the order onto red paper. Let's cut it out of it.

3. Cut out a three-dimensional star from yellow paper.

4. Prepare the St. George’s ribbon and paint the stripes orange. And we also make 2 thin yellow stripes for the order.

5. Take a thick sheet of silver cardboard. We cut it off from each edge with curly scissors. This way we will give it a beautiful shape.

6. Place the order and ribbon in the center. We make notches, and then glue the parts exactly along them.

7. Cut off the excess edge of the tape with curly scissors.

8. Glue 2 strips onto the medal.

9. We make our star three-dimensional. To do this, bend it along the dotted lines. Then we glue the edges onto the order.

All is ready! You can give it to veterans!

And these are templates for the printer. St. George Ribbon.

Star.

Order of Victory.

Postcard templates for May 9th for download

Here I have selected various pictures on the theme of Victory to help you. They can be downloaded and printed on any printer.

Such pictures are immediately suitable for the front of postcards. It’s good to supplement them with your own words and congratulations.

Here are the templates in the form of coloring pages.

The volumetric star can be downloaded, cut and bent into sections.

And a couple more pictures for the background.

Here I tell you bye-bye! But the topic of the Great Patriotic War and the upcoming holiday is not yet closed for us. I will prepare new crafts and congratulations for you!

Victory Day is a great day for the country. In May 1945, the Great Patriotic War ended and a new period of history began, which would have been impossible without the heroic feat of our dear veterans. Congratulations and signs of attention are only a small part of what we can give in gratitude to the heroes, and a gift in which our soul is invested will help us share a piece of warmth and memory with them. Make greeting cards for May 9 with your own hands or with your children, and we will tell you how.

Great Victory Day

In 2017 we celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Great Victory. The heroes and heroines who fought many years ago for the happy future of the Motherland showed perseverance both at that time and later. Time is inexorable, their ranks have thinned. But the memory lives on, and veterans will once again share their stories with the modern generation on this significant day.

Give them a piece of yourself, show your attention by adding warm words with a bouquet of red carnations and a heartfelt card made by yourself. Even if it’s just a trifle, the veterans, these amazing grandparents, will be incredibly pleased.

An ordinary postcard from a store is full of bright colors, but lacks individuality and has no warmth. Making an original card yourself is not so difficult; you can use ready-made ideas or show your imagination by creating your own masterpiece. In addition, it is easy to involve children in this exciting process. There are many techniques in which you can make a postcard for May 9:

All kinds of templates will make it easier to create a postcard for May 9 with your own hands: stars, carnations, doves, etc.

Simple card with voluminous carnations

You can make this card with children, you don’t need any special skills, all you need is:

The postcard is made as follows:

How to make carnations out of paper - video

Carnations do not have to be red; pink or white look good on a postcard for May 9; in this case, it is better to make the base from colored cardboard. White carnations can be decorated; to do this, at the stage of cutting out round blanks, you should draw a line along the edges with a red or pink felt-tip pen.

In addition to the star, the postcard can be decorated with a dove, which is also a symbol of victory. You can simply cut it out of white cardboard, drawing wings, eyes, etc. Or fold it out of paper using the origami technique and the corresponding diagram.

If you have a real St. George's ribbon, you can not just stick it on, but tie it in a bow, securing it at the base of a bouquet of carnations.

Front triangle

These treasured triangles were awaited with bated breath. News from the front came in triangular envelopes. A card like this with a congratulation embedded in it is a touching sign of attention. To do it, you need:

  • White sheet (A4).
  • Brewed black tea.
  • Colored paper (red, green, orange, pink).
  • Glue and scissors.
  • St. George's ribbon or orange double-sided paper.

The process itself is quite labor-intensive, but not that complicated:

  1. Using tea leaves, paint a sheet of paper using a sponge. Dry it. This technique will age the paper, giving it a touch of a previous era.

  2. On one side of the sheet write or print a congratulation to veterans, on the other (along the right side, closer to the right corner) - the inscription “Happy Victory Day” and an impromptu postal stamp above it.
  3. Fold the sheet, bending the upper right corner towards the left side to form an even sharp corner.
  4. Fold the upper left corner to the right, towards the lower border of the previous fold.
  5. Bend the corners of the lower rectangle on both sides towards the base of the upper part. Tuck the lower part into the upper.
  6. Cut out a star from red colored paper according to the template and fold it along the fold lines.
  7. From white, cut out three blanks for apple tree flowers. To do this, you can also use a template or carefully cut the blanks into 5 petals. The radius of the workpiece is about 3.5 cm. Make each workpiece more voluminous by pushing through the middle with the blunt side of a pencil.

  8. Cut several very thin strips for the stamens (5-7 per flower). Glue them into the middle of each piece, painting the ends yellow.
  9. Cut out circles for the core (1-1.5 cm) from pink paper, cut them along the contour with scissors and glue them into each flower on top of the stamens. Bend the latter slightly upward.
  10. Cut a square (4x4 cm) from green paper, fold it diagonally, draw the outline of the leaf and cut it out. Make a small cut at the base of each leaf, bend it slightly and glue it, this will give the workpiece volume.
  11. If you don’t have a ready-made St. George’s ribbon, you can draw black stripes on orange double-sided paper. Glue the tape, placing it along the left side of the triangle (the plane without the inscription), then fold it at the top, move it a little along the second side and bend the tip again.
  12. Glue the star blank in the left corner of the triangle.
  13. Glue a green leaf between the two folds of the tape and three apple flowers on top of it.

You can decorate such a card with other elements at your discretion.

How to make a triangle letter - video

Greeting card using quilling technique

Such cards can be made at any age; quilling is a fascinating activity with which you can create real masterpieces. It is easy to make an original postcard for May 9 according to the proposed scheme or put any design on paper at your discretion and design it using the same technology. Veterans will be pleased to receive such a voluminous card with a spectacular design and heartfelt wishes inside.

Thematic correspondence with the Victory Day is achieved not only through the main symbolism, but also through the use of the colors of the St. George ribbon: black and orange (red) - the colors of gunpowder and fire. For production you need:

  • Watercolor paper or thick cardboard for the base (A4).
  • Colored paper (black, orange).
  • Toothpick or wooden skewer for quilling.
  • Glue and a brush for it.
  • Scissors.

You may need round patterns (a special ruler with circles of different diameters) and templates of letters and numbers printed on a printer; with their help, the entire composition will turn out smooth and neat.

The work must be done in the following order:

If the quilling technique seems too complicated, then using a similar scheme you can fill the outline with balls rolled from colored napkins, torn into pieces of different sizes.

From balls made from a red napkin, you can lay out the outline of a star and the inscription “May 9”, gluing them to the base. Such a card will be effectively complemented by voluminous apple tree flowers, the manufacturing process of which was described above. It is best to take as a basis not white paper, but colored designer paper (golden or silver), craft paper, or artificially aged paper.

May 9 is a big international holiday. There is no family that did not suffer losses in World War II. In 2017, it will be 72 years since the world won a victory over fascism and the cult of personality of brutal dictators.

There are practically no veterans left in dark blue and brown Soviet jackets hung with dozens of medals, and every year there are even fewer. Therefore, we try our best to respect the heroes to whom we owe our lives. And DIY greeting cards for May 9th are a good way to express gratitude for the peaceful sky and bright future of our children.

  • Cutting out a circle
  • Cut the edges a little
  • Fixing the middle

  • There will be 3 flowers on the card, so we repeat the procedure a sufficient number of times
  • This is the flower we should end up with:

Step #3

Making a stem

  • Take colored paper, preferably green, and coat the edges with PVA glue
  • We thinly roll the paper into a long tube (for convenience, you can wrap it in a pencil and then pull it out)

  • We bend this very edge towards the end of the paper.

  • We bend the other edge, forming a single angle.

  • Fold the “airplane” in half.

  • Cut the edge diagonally with scissors.

  • Lay out the paper. It should look like a star like this.

  • Trim the edge of the main corner a little.

Step #3

Let's light a fire

  • Take some red or orange colored paper and fold it in half.
  • Draw a fire on the opposite side of the fold and carefully cut it out

Thus, we get two flame applications.

  • We poke a flame into a star

  • Base the flame with glue on a pencil

It should look like an eternal flame.

Step #4

Decorate with flowers

  • Using the instructions from the previous postcard, we make 3 carnations from napkins

Step #5

Decorating a postcard

You can glue a thematic inscription to the postcard, as shown in the picture.

  • Using green markers we draw the flowers of the stem
  • Cut and glue leaves

Step #6

We finish the card with St. George's ribbon

  • Using a stapler we fix several waves

  • We attach the tape with superglue

Victory Day is a big international holiday. It is not at all surprising that on this day so many people want to make a beautiful card with their own hands. We want to put a piece of our soul into a modest but touching gift. After all, this is the least of what we can do for our heroes, to whom we try to express gratitude through a postcard for our lives and the bright future of our children.
