In one of my posts, I gave a detailed description of knitting “Autumn” rompers. And today we will need this description for knitting rompers of a completely different style and size - these are the “Sissie” rompers.

When finished, the sliders have the following dimensions:

1. Foot length - 9 cm
2. Pants leg length - 22 cm
3. Width of the middle part - 21 cm
4. Length from foot to nodules (it may vary) - 56-58 cm

Knitting rompers

The "Sissie" rompers are knitted from very soft, thin and warm yarn BABY WOOL BATIK (175 m/50 g) and BABY WOOL from ALIZE, which contains wool, acrylic and bamboo.

The sliders took 2 skeins of sectional and 1 skein of blue yarn. And I knitted them with the “Relief” pattern and stocking stitch.

Knitting pattern “Relief”

The “Relief” knitting pattern is outrageously simple: it alternates 2 x 2 rib and garter stitch, but it looks, you see, very good!

To knit a pattern sample, cast on the number of loops that are a multiple of 4 plus 2 edge loops (28+2=30) and start knitting:

• With 1st By 7th rows - alternate 2 knit, 2 purl;
• With 8th By 12th rows - knit with facial loops;
• With 13th By 19th rows - alternate 2 purl, 2 knit;
• With 20th By 24th rows - all loops are knit;
• With 25th row - repeat from the 1st row.

When knitting “Sissie” rompers with 9th By 12th and from 21st to We knit the 24th row of this pattern with blue thread, all the rest with sectional thread.

Knitting romper pants

As I already wrote above, the description of knitting rompers “Sissy” was created on the basis of a master class on knitting rompers “Autumn”, so I will not copy the beginning of knitting rompers - this is not good in the eyes of search robots, forgive me.

So, using blue threads on knitting needles No. 2, we cast on 39 loops and knit one to one up to the 21st row according to the description (by clicking on this link, you will be taken to a page with a description of the “Autumn” sliders).

• In the 21st row we knit 34 facial loops, distributing them into 2 knitting needles,
• then attach a pin and knit on a new needle first 1 knit stitch (this is a new edge loop), 1 purl,
• then we move on to knitting the pattern with “Relief” knitting needles.

When closing the work in a circle, we knit the edge stitches together with a knit stitch, at the end of the row (before the pin) we knit 1 purl stitch and 1 knit stitch (edge ​​stitch).

We turn the work to the wrong side and continue knitting, adding “Relief” pattern in every 12th row:

• first evenly 8 loops (on knitting needles 54 loops);
• then 2 loops (one at the beginning of the row, the other at the end) 4 times (62 loops on the needles).

After this, in every 4th row (no longer a pattern, but by counting) we add 2 loops 2 times (one from each edge), there will be 66 loops on the knitting needles.

Having knitted the wrong side, we “freeze” the work until we knit the right leg of the “Sissy” romper.

On the knitting needle, where the left trouser leg of the sliders is located, we cast on an additional 4 air loops. We knit them and then 66 loops of the left trouser leg (it is better to join the trouser legs when doing garter stitch).

We cast on again, now there are 6 air loops, behind them we knit 66 loops of the right trouser leg and we cast on 4 air loops (4+66+6+66+4=146). The result of this process is visible in the photo above.

Now the easiest part of the work awaits us - knitting the fabric in a straight line (do not forget to change the colors of the threads).

Having knitted 25 cm from the junction of the legs, we proceed to knitting the armholes of the sliders. To do this, from the 10th purl row of the “Relief” pattern, we perform the following actions:

• remove the edge, knit 33 loops, close 5 loops, knit 68 loops, close 5 loops, knit 34 loops.

Knitting breast rompers

There are 68 loops on the knitting needles. On both sides in every second row we close: first 3 loops, then 2 loops and 3 times 1 loop (52 loops on the knitting needle).

The backrest is also reduced. After making the decreases, we knit only with a 2 x 2 elastic band. Having knitted 1.5 cm of the breast, we proceed to rounding the neckline, closing the middle 10 loops.

Now we knit each side separately, continuing to decrease the neckline on each side in every second row: 3 loops, 3 times 2 loops, 4 times 1 loop.

There are 8 loops left, with which we knit the strings of the rompers: 9-10 cm. Close the loops. Let's move on to the back.

Knitting the back of the romper

Having knitted 2.5 cm with a 2 x 2 elastic band, we begin to round off the neckline, closing the middle 10 loops. Then decrease on each side in every second row: 2 times 3 loops, 2 times 2 loops and 3 times 1 loop.

From the remaining 8 loops we knit ties of the same length as on the chest. We close the loops. The “Sissy” romper is knitted!

Only a little remains: sew the rompers, thread the threads and freshen them with a light hand wash.

All knitted clothing for newborn babies should be made of acrylic, not wool. Pure wool can irritate children's delicate skin or cause allergies. If you do not have experience in choosing yarn for knitting for children, we recommend assessing the softness of the yarn as follows: pass the ball over your lips, cheeks, and wrists. If the yarn does not prick the delicate skin in these areas and is soft, then it is most likely suitable for knitting clothes for newborns.

Before starting work, knit a sample to decide on the choice of knitting needles and calculate the required number of loops and rows in the main fabric.

2. HOW TO KNIT BEAUTIFUL BOOTS FOR A NEWBORN GIRL

The easiest way to knit comfortable shoes for a baby with knitting needles:

We cast on 15 loops on a knitting needle.
knit with an elastic band of 1/1 7 cm.

Then we knit in circular rows.
You need to cast on 60 loops, distributing 15 loops onto the knitting needles.
We knit in stockinette stitch 2cm. In the next row we knit the loops together with 1 cast-on circular row. You can use a hook for convenience.

Now we knit with a 1/1 2 cm elastic band. Divide the fabric into 23 loops for the front part and 37 loops for the back. In every second row, decrease 1 loop twice on both sides of the front and back parts.

There should be 52 stitches left on the needles
Then you need to knit separately.

On the back side (33 stitches) knit in stockinette stitch 2cm.

On the front side we continue to knit with 1/1 rib, decreasing one loop on both sides in every second row until 5 loops remain. Then you need to close the loops.

Fold the back side of the fabric and hem it.
All that remains is to thread the lace.
